A sister is a good friend
Who knows you very well
A sister is a confidante
To whom secrets you can tell
A sister is a shoulder
To cry on when you’re sad
A sister is a comfort
For when things turn out bad
A sister is a treasure
More precious than pure gold
A sister can be relied on
Whatever the future holds
A sister will support you
In all you say and do
A sister is a Godsend
And lucky me to have two!
Although I have published this poem on my blog before, I decided it needed another airing!
I have 3 older sisters Judy. Athough I may agree with you now. Growing up was a different story.☺☺

Well my niece came across that old photo of the 3 of us a couple of days ago so I thought the poem would go perfectly with it.

Am glad you republished this, Judy. A great poem. The title remains me of the song from “White Christmas”.

They don’t make them like this anymore. Such a shame, but always great to see both movies on TV over the Christmas period.
I can mime to “Sisters” and do all the actions. No doubt you won’t be surprised to hear that! 🙂

No I am not surprised but you have to get someone to film it so I can see it…pretty please 🙂

This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
