Quote of The Day Challenge: Day 2

I have been nominated by the lovely Funsie from Simply Me to take part in one of my favourite challenges. Why not pop on over to her blog and say hello. She has lots to keep you entertained on her blog whilst you visit.

The rules for this challenge are as follows:

1  –  Thank the blogger that nominated you.
2 – Share one new quote on three consecutive days on your blog. They can be from anywhere, anyone, or anything.
3 – On each of the three days, nominate three more bloggers to carry on with the fun! No pressure; nominees are free to decline.

I have decided that I will be using quotes from the wonderful Maya Angelou. A lady of immense courage, wisdom and fortitude that battled many challenges in her life, yet rose above them all.

You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.

  • Maya Angelou

My nominees, should they want to participate, are:

Raphaela from Hummingbird Redemption

Mary-Anne from Breathing Life

Wendy from Wendy of The Rock

Episode 404: New Experiences. — July 5, 2015

Episode 404: New Experiences.

I haven’t told any of you this yet (well apart from Hugh in an e-mail), but for the last couple of months I have been writing some articles for a relatively new online magazine called Writing Times.

Ever since I started this blog back in November, I have become more and more obsessed with writing. and I especially love doing those wacky news articles such as this one (which I actually did for the magazine) and this as well. I have written them under my real name Judy Martin as I wanted to do something as ‘me’ so to speak!

Anyway, this magazine has all sorts from an agony aunt, to reviews, recipes, Flash Fiction competitions and loads of other great stuff. I wanted to gain some experience in writing, so contacted them to see if I could do anything for them, and am now part of a great team.

They are always looking for new writers in all sorts of topics, so if you too are looking to get some experience (I am really enjoying myself digging around for new stuff to write about) then perhaps you would like to contact them here.

Episode 232: Eclipsed By The Weather! — March 19, 2015

Episode 232: Eclipsed By The Weather!

I have been getting quite excited. Tomorrow there is going to be a partial eclipse of the sun, and from where I live in South East England, we should be able to see it 85% covered.

Now I remember 16 years ago when we had a total eclipse of the sun. I worked for a brochure distribution company in the offices, and the whole lot of us went outside to see this wonderful phenomenon; I was so glad to have been able to have experienced it.

Anyway, back to tomorrow. I was supposed to be working, but am owed some annual leave. I was thrilled when the boss said I could take it tomorrow as I have more chance of being able to go outside and look at the eclipse. I was cross with Mr Grump though as I had asked him to get me some of those special glasses so I can look at the sun without burning my eyes out and they have apparently ‘sold out’!

Never mind, no doubt I will find some way of seeing it with my eyes left intact! Or so I thought. Having just watched the evening news and weather forecast for 09:30 tomorrow morning when the big event takes place, I see that the weather is going to be very similar to today.

Grey, cloudy, drizzle, no sun, no bugger all! You can always rely on good old British weather to spoil an occasion!
