Friday Free-For-All #14.

It’s Friday, we are going to have a beautiful day again today, and I have got a BBQ to look forward to after work tonight, so in my world, all is good! I have rounded up some more brilliant blog posts a well for your enjoyment. Please go and visit them as of course, they are all well worth it (as are all the blogs I follow actually)!   I have included all sorts of posts for your enjoyment as usual.

TanGental. I have recently started following this blog, and have already read some wonderful posts. This one in particular, made me think about things in a different way and was very insightful.

Ronovan’s Writes. There is so much to say about this blog! not only does he help and support other bloggers, and authors, he organises a weekly haiku challenge (which I am now hooked on), and a positive ‘Be Wonderful On Wednesday’ post. However, he is very wise as well, and I thought this post gave some great advice.

A Momma’s View. Momma’s blog has all sorts on it, from homeschooling, to helping others and everything else in-between! This post is a cold, hard look at something that many of us take for granted, and a good reminder of why we shouldn’t!

Madmeanderingme This is another blog that I have only recently started following, Ruth had a really lovely, colourful blog. I thought this post was great as it was a light-hearted way of remembering things!

How The Cookie Crumbles I really love the way Tess tells a story, She always has you gripped throughout and then leaves you dangling, wanting more.

Listful Thinking This blog is always funny, and this post is no exception, although I don’t think it was supposed to be!

Have a happy Friday!

Free-For-All Friday #13

Welcome to my Free-for-all Friday number 13. I have got another wonderful collection of blogs for your enjoyment,  so there is no unlucky 13, as everyone’s a winner! Please go and visit these wonderful blogs are they are well worth it. I’ve even got a bit of raunchiness for your delectation this week!

Joeyfully Stated I love Joey’s blog as she is a very straight-talking woman, who has a great sense of humour too. This post I could relate to perfectly as our family do exactly the same. It is a great fun post.

My Spanglish Familia This is another great blog written by a lovely lady who describes what life is like living with Bipolar. She is frank, and honest but also manages to laugh at herself, and some of the situations she finds herself in.

Nicholas C Rossis I don’t want to give too much away about this post other than to say you really must read it – or at least try to, I failed to get to the end!

Author Erika Kind This has Adult Content and is a little raunchy. Erika has a very rich and varied blog, but I just had to include this post as I loved it.

Sahar’s Blog This is a thought-provoking post which is pretty topical at the moment. I think Sahar has made some valid points here.

Fabuliciousfifty I have only just started following this blog which was recommended by another blogger, and I found this post to be really helpful to me for various reasons.

So there you have a bevy of blogs to keep you occupied and entertained, not to mention enlightened for a while. I am sure you will enjoy them as much as I did.

Free-For-All Friday #12

Welcome to my Free-for-all Friday, where I get to share with you some of the wonderful posts that I have read this week. As you know I like all type of blogs, so there is a mix of all sorts to suit everyone. Please check out these blogs if you have not already done so, as they are all brilliant.

Creatopath Rachel has all sorts on her blog, from crafts to flash fiction. This post was a short story which I thought was very cleverly written.

Fourth Generation Farm Girl Tonya is amazing at writing acrostic poems. I admire her ability to make them look easy when I know they certainly are not.

Skipah’s Realm This post had me rocking with laughter. I know I have a bit of a sick sense of humour and it was not a funny thing to happen to someone, but the way he described it had me doubled over!

Hugh’s Views and News I love this blog as it is so varied; everything from flash fiction stories that really capture the imagination, to posts by Toby the dog (when he get Hugh out of the way). This post is one that makes me feel proud to be British.

My OBT I really enjoy Donna’s blog. She is a very cultured lady who has also a taste for the wacky and wonderful (definitely my kind of person). Check out this post to see what weirdness she has uncovered.

Daily Echo.Sue is a very talented author and poet, She is also a brilliant raconteur and this post had me in hysterics. I love a good laugh (especially at other people’s ineptitude, as I have so many of my own, that I can really empathise) and this did not disappoint.

So there you have this weeks selection which you are sure to enjoy.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Free-For-All Friday #11

It’s Friday which means it is time to share my favourite posts of the last week. I have got a great selection for your enjoyment and all of the blogs are well worth a visit.

Behind the White Coat  This post takes me back a few years before all of the Health and Safety rules and regulations; when kids were kids and played without worrying about getting hurt!

My Travels With Depression I have been following this blog for quite a while and find that we have a very similar sense of humour. This post really made me laugh as It is a situation I can imagine myself being in.

My Friday Blog Josh has a habit of telling things exactly as they are! He has strong views that I do not always totally agree with but in this post he totally hits the nail on the head!

The Off Key Of Life I really admire George for writing this post. He is a real gentleman that does not like to see laddish and loutish behaviour towards women.

Hugh’s Views and News  I have been following Hugh for quite a while now and he is one of the nicest people around, This post is very topical, and I love Hugh’s enthusiasm as well as optimism!

The V-Pub  I have not been following this blog for very long but it is always consistently good! Rob is quite a character and very funny.

Free-For-All Friday #10

Welcome to my Friday Free-For-All, the 10th one already! There have been some more wonderful posts this week which I would like to share with you. As usual, I have tried to choose a variety of different  blogs which are all brilliant in their own way. Please do go and check them all out.

runawaynunsandleprechauns This is rather a funny little poem that really made me laugh. It is short and sweet and I know you will enjoy it, especially if you are a dog lover.

Dublin Housewife This is another hilarious post from the wonderful Bernie Rose! I just love her style of writing; she is witty, and really brings her conversations to life.

A Momma’s View This post is a reminder to us all really. It may seem pretty obvious, but the point needs to be re-iterated as it does not seem to be sinking in for some people, which is a terrible shame.

The Indecisive Eejit I included this post because I could really resonate with the frustration felt here. Sometimes, despite our best efforts we still can’t seem to get anywhere. I really admire this blogger and have the utmost respect for her.

But I Smile Anyway. Ritu is one of the most creative and talented people around. I don’t know how she fits everything into her day, and manage to stay so cheerful and bright. She is also an inspirational teacher who any child would be lucky to have.

Chronicles of an Orange-Haired Woman This is a blog that I have only just started following, however it has so much to offer, This particular post I can identify with so much!

I hope you all enjoy these posts as much as I did. Have a wonderful Friday!

Free-For-All Friday: #9 — May 8, 2015

Free-For-All Friday: #9

It’s Friday already. which means that it is time for me to share some more wonderful posts with you that I have discovered over the last week. I have tried to choose a variety of posts from all types of blogs. It goes without saying, that all of them are worth checking out.

Nutsrok Linda never fails to amaze me with stories about her crazy family! The fact that she is such a brilliant story-teller and is so funny as well, really adds to my enjoyment.

Vashti Quiroz-Vega This post caught my eye as I am really getting into Haiku writing, and I thought both of these offerings were brilliant in totally different ways.

Homemade Naturally Now although I like  to have a go at sewing from time to time, I am not that good. However, I saw this, and loved it, and am actually tempted to have a go at it as it does look quite simple.

Fourth Generation Farmgirl This is an inspirational post that shows what you can achieve with a lot of determination and perseverance. The follow-on post is the culmination of this, and the end result is stunning.

I Refuse To Follow Your Blog This post made me laugh! I love the way he writes, getting his point across in a humorous way. It works for me 🙂

Smorgasbord – Variety Is The Spice of Life I just had to include this one as I didn’t stop laughing throughout the whole post. That is no mean feat at the moment either!

Wild Daffodil I loved this post. We take many things for granted and don’t often see the beauty in nature. This shows just how lucky we are to have such beauty surrounding us.

I am sure you will enjoy these as much as I did.

Episode 313: Five Things I Have Learned About Blogging! — May 4, 2015

Episode 313: Five Things I Have Learned About Blogging!

  • Don’t forget to proofread! Now I am one of those people who, once I have written something, unless there is a glaringly obvious mistake, then I might not notice it, despite re-reading the whole post to check for errors. I have hit ‘publish’ before then have gone into the article at a later date and found a typo in the very first word! How embarrassing! Mind you, even worse is when I have commented on other blogs and made a few typos!
  • Interact with others. This may seem bloody obvious, but you can’t afford to be shy. I know I was very daunted by commenting on other blogs, but we all like to know we are doing something right, so a little encouraging remark can go a very long way; sometimes you might even get a reply!
  • Be careful what you say. Again, this might be blindingly obvious, but if you are having a bit of a rant and rave about someone who has annoyed you, the chances are they will find out about it! Once a post has been published, it is there for all to see, so think twice about putting up drunken pictures of yourself in a heap on the floor. It’s not pretty!
  • Learn how to connect with social media, If you want people to read your blog, and are a dunce when it comes to using social media, you need to learn how it works. So many people use it, that you are missing out on a huge audience if you do not know how to share on these sites. This is a work in progress for me, which I am getting to the bottom of as it is going to take a bit of time, I think!
  • Be passionate about what you write. Nobody wants to read a boring post that drones on and on with no feeling or emotion. Who wants to be dragged down to the depths of despair by a dismal post? Exactly! I find that when I have written a positive and enthusiastic post then I get more comments and likes. Readers can pick up on when you are passionate or excited about something, and it influences the way they feel about it too.
Episode 296: Blog Feed! — April 19, 2015

Episode 296: Blog Feed!

Well today is the last day of the Easter holidays and it’s back to work tomorrow after two weeks off. It has been so nice to have this time off, especially as the weather has been pretty kind as well, on the whole.

The one thing I will miss though is being able to spend more time on my blogging. I have been able to feed my blogging addiction quite a lot over the last two weeks, and instead of my hunger being sated, I find that my appetite has grown!

I am actually going to have to use the ‘schedule’ button a bit more than I normally do as I like to write ‘off the cuff’ about whatever takes my fancy. It is odd to  think though that before September last year when I started this blog, I had never done any sort of writing as such.

I have always loved poems, and little ditties which I still like to do now, along with a newfound extra; I have discovered the Haiku (thanks to dear Hugh and Ronovan). They are also pretty fun to do, although as there are rules with them, they require a bit more thought (stretching my poor brain to the limit)!

Given my love of words, and being such a prolific reader as well, it is odd that I never really considered writing before. Mind you, it probably has a lot to do with confidence really, as my idea of people who wrote, were either of scholarly types, locked away in the attic for hours scribbling frantically, or of the bright and funny young women bashing away at a temperamental typewriter knocking out their latest ‘bonkbuster!’

Obviously, I fit into neither of those categories, nor do I have anything specific that I like to write about, apart from the fact that I do prefer to have some sort of humour running through it. Perhaps that is why I have become addicted to blogging. It seems to fit with me perfectly, because not only can I write to my heart’s content, I also get to interact with other bloggers too. That for me is the main course and the dessert!

Episode 293: A Massive Thank-You! — April 18, 2015

Episode 293: A Massive Thank-You!

I am thrilled this morning to see that I have now got 500 followers! I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am about that.

I would like to say Thank You to each and every one of you, for your support of my blog. When I started out I didn’t know if anyone would read it. How that has changed in such a short time.

I have ‘met’ lots of other bloggers and read so many different blogs. There are so many funny, clever and talented people out there and I am proud to be part of the blogging community which has been such an enriching experience.

Thank you so much.

Free-For-All Friday #6

Welcome to week 6 of my Free-For-All Friday where I choose some of my favourite posts of the last week. As usual, there is a pretty mixed bag of all kinds of things, from the funny to the serious, and thought-provoking. I am sure that you will find something amongst these that will tickle your fancy!  All of the blogs of course, are well worth a visit.

Fill Your Own Glass. This post was a very heartfelt one written by the lovely Karen. I have followed her blog for a while now, and I can always count on her for her well-written and well-thought out posts. They often make me take a step back and look at things from a different perspective.

A Opinionated Man Where do I start here! Jason has done loads to help new and established bloggers alike. He offers advice and help, as well as posts pretty regularly. He very often holds ‘meet and greets’ so even if this link is out of date by Friday, it won’t be too long before he holds another one. An invaluable opportunity to  promote your blog and find others!

Blogging Around With The Original Domestic God This post had me laughing my head off! The sheer silliness of it really appealed to me. He has a wonderful way with words and fantastic sense of humour.

Yadadarcyyada This post is a really great piece of advice. I really love the style of this blogger, who I fortunately came across this week. She is down to earth and funny, and gives out handy tips too!

Thebippityboppitybeautifulblog We all like to look at something pretty from time to time. I love bright colours especially yellow and I just loved these pictures. Go over and have a look, they are gorgeous.

The Screenplay Of Life Chronicles This post is just lovely The photograph is beautiful as is the message. Kevin is really talented, and has a wonderful blog.

Sophie Speaks Up This is a really funny tongue-in-cheek post that resonated with me. I laughed my head off, when i read it.
