I decided that I had to still take part in Ronovan’s weekly Haiku challenge despite trying to participate in NaNoWriMo as I would get withdrawal symptoms otherwise!
The prompt words actually gave me a hard time this week!
Anyway, here is what I made of it:
My mind is tortured;
Crashing, swirling thoughts break through;
A Haiku is born
Reblogged this on ronovanwrites and commented:
Hoping Judy becomes my NaNo Buddy since I’m reblogging her this week. 🙂 Gotta support the NaNo sufferers.

So wonderfully expressed! That’s how I feel many times with Ron’s word prompts; on the verge of crazy.

Spot on, Judy. I think you described the creative process perfectly and in three lines, no less. Beautiful 🙂

That turned out to be brilliant Haiku. It is so crisp, it belies the effort that went into it. And it seems to me you have the two opposite sentiments in your two sentences.

Thank you Daffy. It is rare that I manage to get all of the proper elements into my Haiku. 🙂

Hi Edwina, perfect haiku for me, it’s always a torture to match the right words.

I think Haiku and mind is a very good combination for a Haiku. Challenging the mind all the time 🙂

Yes, this week it certainly challenged my poor mind! 🙂

Yes – and soon crashing, swirling, breaking through would a story that you’ll write in NaNoWriMo.

I know what it feels like when you have several blogs running through your mind at once. It really can feel like a crashing and swirling of thoughts. Thanks for hanging in with the blog hop. What would we do without haiku blog hops. 🙂

You came up with the perfect Haiku Edwina! I find writing weekly 99 word flash fiction gives me a good distraction when I come up for air from all the revisions on my memoir. Talk about crash and burn…it’s not easy! And I am thinking of you with NaNoWriMo hoping you’re getting your words down. Keep going, you’re doing great!

Sherri .I am so thrilled you liked my Haiku and thank you so much for your support with the NaNoWriMo. I am doing better than I thought so far!
It must be a pain constantly re-writing and revising. so I can understand why you would want a distraction from that! 🙂

This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
