I originally wrote this for last year but thought it should have another airing for those of you that missed it!
I love to write a poem
About all kinds of stuff
The things that make me happy
Or to moan when things get tough!
There are many types of poem
From which to take your pick
A Haiku, sonnet or blank verse
Ode or Limerick
Some poems can be so funny
Others make you cry
Many are inspiring
So go and give one a try
I want to add my voice to others
In this unique display
Of poets coming together
For World Poetry Day!
Very nice!

I thank you for your ditty
For words that prompt a smile
For writing that is witty
And support across the miles.

I’m so glad that you and one other blogger alerted me–somehow I missed the memo that today was a special day for all of us here! I LOVE your poem too!!!

I hope you’ll be participating in April’s Nat’l Poetry Writing Month–even though it’s here in the USA, it’s open to Everybody!! And it’s great fun 🙂

Oh? I didn’t know about it at all. Way toying with doing the A-Z challenge but might have a go at the Poetry month instead. Not sure yet.

Good luck with the A-Z–it looks like a tough challenge, to me–though NaPoWriMo offers many of the same poetry forms to challenge us each April too 🙂

Well I am definitely going to have a look at it that’s for sure, although I am a bit of a 3 trick pony!!

I’ll probably post an excited note as NaPoWriMo begins here in the US, April 1–so you’ll be reminded, IF you choose to participate in it too. And if you do join in, you can follow as rigidly or relaxed as you choose–sometimes if I don’t feel up to doing the “prompt”/form, I just count whatever poem I’ve posted as my daily participation. It’s just supposed to be FUN! If you want to check it out, I think the link is napowrimo.com…I’ll have to check for myself!

Well it was you that put me onto it so I went over to have a look, and I noticed there was somewhere for me to submit my blog.

This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
