I wrote this post not long after I had started at University on the road to becoming a nurse. It is a very long journey but I have covered a lot of ground already. You can see how I am getting on now by clicking here.
I’m two months into my studies
And have found it pretty full-on
My head is spinning with info
And I wonder where the time’s gone!
The poor dummies have taken a battering
Where we have pummelled their chest
They’ve been prodded, pricked and manhandled
To help us perform at our best
I’ve become addicted to YouTube
To help me out with my studies
I am re-acquainted with referencing
‘Cite Them Right’ and I are best buddies!
I thought I had a good knowledge
From experience, I had before
But this is delving much deeper
And I need to learn so much more
I knew it was not going to be easy
And despite sometimes getting a bit terse
I am so happy to be studying
To become a Registered Nurse!
My best friend just got her license to be a nurse so I know the hard road it is to get there. Best of luck in getting to the end!
Thanks so much, and congratulations to your friend 🙂
Love your poem sis. X
Thanks, Sis xx
I love your passion and enthusiasm, sis! This is so exciting!!
Thanks Sis. I am really enjoying it despite moaning about the exams!
I know! Hear you… but who likes them ?
It will all be worth it in the end, Judy. I studied for 7 years.
7 Years?! wow, that must have been really hard going, Robbie, but what an achievement when you graduated! 🙂
Yes, it is a great thing.
This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
