I have just got my entry in, why not give yourself a challenge and join in!
Category: Uncategorized
I have entered, why not have a go too. 🙂
This is it. The waiting is finally over.
The Bloggers Bash Awards are now open for voting.
We had a HUGE number of nominations, over 350, so thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate.
Voting Closes June 9th at 12pm. The winners will be announced on June 11th at the Bash. If you can’t make it then a winners post will go live at 5:15pm on June 11th.
Choose carefully, you can only vote ONCE per category. There are 10 awards, (so it’s a long post) make sure you vote in them all.
Good luck to all the nominees.
Disclaimer: The committee has done their best to coordinate the nominations and to ensure, where possible, we gave nominees a choice of which category they wanted to be in. Due to time constraints and limited resources this may not have always been possible.

As darkness descends upon us
And the moon casts an eerie glow
On the last day of October
It is All Hallows Eve, you know
🎃🎃🎃🎃
Where souls of those once departed
Come back once more to roam
Visiting their old haunts
Finding their way back home
🎃🎃🎃🎃
Some of them are banshees
Screaming in the night
Or ugly, warty witches
That look an awful fright
🎃🎃🎃🎃
Vampires who are looking
For someone’s blood to suck
Zombies from the graveyard
Decayed, and covered in muck.
🎃🎃🎃🎃
There are ghosts and there are werewolves
All of which you’ll meet
When you answer your front door bell
And the kids yell ‘Trick or Treat!’
http://hughsviewsandnews.com/2015/10/17/hughs-photo-challenge-week-2-whats-in-the-cupboard/I really wanted to have a go at Hugh’s photo challenge this week, but thought about the state of my cupboards (Hugh’s is so clean)Â and decided not to show myself up!
However, I forgot about the cupboard staring me in the face in the front room. The one we rarely use, as most of the music has been (painstakingly) transferred to the computer by Mr Grump.
So this is one of the few that we have which houses both mine and Mr Grump’s music collection! Ahem, most of it is actually his as mine doesn’t count for much of it at all. There are quite a few 70s and 80s compilations in there which are both of ours, but Elvis, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Meatloaf are all mine, as is Keane (I used to love them, where have they gone)? Mr Grump has got Natasha Beddingfield, Kylie Minogue (surprise, surprise, what man straight or gay doesn’t like Miss Minogue?) and one of the Now That’s What I Call Music albums amongst others.
I must say, as a rule, he actually does like more modern stuff than me, and I go mad when he puts on some of his ‘rave’ stuff or whatever the hell it is. Very fast, buzzy music which makes my head spin! Still, bizarrely we both like Eminem! If it comes on in the car, we piously flick it off  as Miss Hap rolls her eyes, annoyed at being denied the chance to sing along with some of the obscenities she already knows are there!
Of course, her music is all on her phone, which is a good thing. Or maybe it isn’t as I know she likes some of this ‘bump and grind’ kind of stuff, which has near naked people gyrating around all over each other in the accompanying video! A bit of a far cry from the ABBA albums I have in my cupboard!
I have been nominated by Karen of Fill Your Own Glass a brilliant blog, filled with optimism and inspiration, to participate in the 3 Day Quote Challenge which is one challenge that I always love to participate in.
I am going to try my own quotes this time, and will take a leaf out of Karen’s book by using ‘Optimism’ as my theme.
Here are the rules:
Rules for the 3 Day Quote Challenge:
1) Â Thank the blogger who nominated you.
2) Â Publish 3 quotes on 3 consecutive days on your blog. Â It can be your own or from a book, movie, or from anyone who inspires you.
3) Â Nominate 3 more bloggers to carry on this endeavor.
Here is my Quote:

Here are my Nominees (Should you wish to accept)
I always try my hardest
When I am at work
I’ll do anything they ask me
And never skive or shirk
Yet everyday they ask for more
Way above my grade
At first I was so flattered
At the impression I had made
Little did I realise
They got so much more for less
All the responsibility
Not to mention extra stress
I cannot be promoted
Unless I start anew
But for now it’s ok
Till the newbies learn what to do
But God forbid I mention
That I still don’t feel that well
Always feeling tired
and generally like hell!
‘Perhaps we should get you checked out
To see if you are still fit’
Yet when there was no-one else
They didn’t mind a bit!
A scorching hot summer, a handsome young couple
Their bodies glisten with sweat
Hair slicked back, damp from the sea
This beach is where they first met
She lies on her towel enjoying the sunshine
And gives a contented little sigh
He pours out some sunscreen into his hand
And starts smoothing it into her thigh
His circular movements get higher and higher
She is starting to react to his touch
As his hands start to wander
All over her body
She knows that she wants him so much.
He can stand it no longer, his passion is rising
He leads her by the hand to the sea
The cool of the water, does not cool their ardour
And they kiss more and more passionately
They have no one around them, and need to get closer
Each other’s bodies they crave
He removes her bikini and plunges inside her
As they rock to and fro with the waves.
Moaning with pleasure, they climb higher and higher
Until the apex they reach
Then sated and happy they return to the bar
And order A ‘Sex on the Beach!’
Was it really 12 years ago
I first held you in my arms?
Your face all scrunched and wrinkled
And little skinny legs and arms!
I had waited so long to have you
And I never thought I’d see
That this beautiful, perfect baby
Would actually belong to me
To start with things were tricky
As it was just the two of us
But we muddled through it
With the minimum of fuss
You have grown so very quickly
And are now nearly a teen
You are clever, bright and funny
And look like a Beauty Queen
We have come so far together
I’m so proud of my little girl
So Happy Birthday darling
You really rock my world!
