3 Day Quote Challenge: Day 3

My dear friend Erika has nominated me to take part in this challenge again. Please visit her blog for a daily dose of music, wisdom and enlightenment. I am so pleased she nominated me for this challenge as it is one of my favourites.

Challenge rules:

  1. Post 3 quotes on 3 consecutive days
  2. Thank the person who nominated you
  3. Nominate 3 new bloggers each single day of the challenge

In light of the season, and recent events, I am going with a theme of thankfulness, and the ‘quotes’ are my own.

For the last day, after posting on family and work, this post will be about leisure. and of course, you all know what my favourite leisure activity is 🙂

For me, being a part of the blogging  community is having a wealth of taleneted, empathetic,  funny, and articualte people as my neighbours who are always there for a chat and a bit of advice.

I would like to nominate the following to take part if they fancy it 🙂

Today I am looking at work. In my job, I see so many people struggling with things many of us take for granted.

When you hate the thought of getting out of bed and going to work, remember there are those that would give anything just to be able to get out of bed, let alone have the strength to work.

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt #72 ‘Life’ & ‘Give’ — November 23, 2015

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt #72 ‘Life’ & ‘Give’

We have some wonderful prompt words this week for Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge  ‘life’ and ‘give’

Here is what I made of it:

Frosty Morning

Hugh’s Photo Challenge Week 6: Unused — November 15, 2015

Hugh’s Photo Challenge Week 6: Unused

I had to wrack my poor brains this week for Hugh’s Photo Challenge  as he wanted us to photograph something ‘unused.’

Now that is no mean feat in this house, as everything we have gets used, and if it doesn’t, it is something that is chucked in a cupboard, but has been used.

I know this is a  bit of a cop-out, but it is the only thing I can think of. I bought this dress at the end of the summer as I really love the colours and unusual design. I haven’t had the chance to wear it yet, though, and it still has the tags on it,  so I think this counts as unused!

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt #70 ‘Crane’ and ‘Gold’ — November 9, 2015

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt #70 ‘Crane’ and ‘Gold’

Well  I thought the prompt words were tricky last week, then I saw what Ron had given us for today’s Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt. I am cross with him as I have been wracking my poor brains to come up with something that is half-decent!

Anyway, on a separate note, congratulations Ron for smashing the NaNoWriMo challenge already and passing the 50 000 mark! That is brilliant, and of course, I am not jealous!!! 😉

So back to the Haiku. I was hoping to try to get a photo of the recent blood moon eclipse, but failed! This was before the actual eclipse as I missed the main event!

Craning my neck to

capture a golden moment….

I missed the eclipse!

Hugh’s Views and News Photo Challenge: Week 5 . Pair — November 7, 2015

Hugh’s Views and News Photo Challenge: Week 5 . Pair

Hugh is already in his fifth week of the photo challenge he created. I have enjoyed participating in this as it is fun trying to fit the photo to the word, or vice versa! I love the poached eggs on toast  pic on his blog – what a lovely pair!

My entry for this week is much more conventional, being a pair of shoes! However, these are real skyscrapers and something that my niece loves to wear,

I know I am getting older now as I had to jam my poor toes into the narrow shoe and had Mr Grump haul me up! My knee clicked in protest as I rose to the tallest I have ever been in my life, probably about 5ft 8 or 9 as I was even taller than old Grump!

I had to hold onto the door whilst he took the photo as I could barely balance on them let alone walk.No sexy wiggle for me in my heels, more of an arthritic hobble followed by an almighty fall I shouldn’t wonder!

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge 69: ‘Haiku’ & ‘Mind’ — November 2, 2015

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge 69: ‘Haiku’ & ‘Mind’

I decided that I had to still take part in Ronovan’s weekly Haiku challenge despite trying to participate in NaNoWriMo as I would get withdrawal symptoms otherwise!

The prompt words actually gave me a hard time this week!

Anyway, here is what I made of it:

My mind is tortured;

Crashing, swirling thoughts break through;

A Haiku is born

Tortured

Hugh’s Photo Challenge Week 4: Isolated — October 31, 2015

Hugh’s Photo Challenge Week 4: Isolated

Hugh has chosen ‘Isolated’ for his photo challenge this week.

The photo that I have chosen depicts a beautiful piece of Kent countryside! It is just to the back of the offices where I am now based, and only a 10-minute walk from my house. Mr Grump takes Roxy for her walk there, as there is plenty of space for her to run around and tire herself out!  It is a pretty quiet spot though and you would not believe that there are shops, offices and houses, just a stones throw away!

Tjs Household Haiku Challenge —

Tjs Household Haiku Challenge

This week TJ has given us ‘treats’ to use for our prompt for his Household Haiku Challenge, which of course, is very fitting for Halloween.

My mind immediately went in the same direction as TJs with the sweets/chocolates idea, as for me, they are indeed a very special treat.

This is what I came up with:

Halloween treats for

witches, monsters, ghosts and ghouls

go to sleep happy!
