The day is here, the mood is set
With my card and roses too
I wanted a romantic evening
But instead I got the ‘flu!
My eyes are barely open
My nose is sore and red
My body aches all over
I should have stayed in bed
Tonight it’s steak for dinner
And perhaps a glass of wine
But I am feeling grotty
Happy St Valentine’s!

awww. feel better!! 🙂

Thank you. Sneezing continuously does not make for a romantic evening, but never mind, the red nose is at least in keeping with the Valentine theme! 🙂

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear it, and hope you are feeling better quickly! Of course, true love means he loves you, red nose and all. 🙂

well if he loves you despite the runny nose you know it’s true love. When my husband proposed I had the worse cold – I must have looked a fright.
Love you talent with rhyming schemes – well done
Now, go back to bed!

Yes, Bless him, he was pretty good yesterday with me sneezing my head off and feeling sorry for myself. I slept on an off all evening and then had an early night so am feeling a little better today. Your husband is also not faint-hearted then! We are lucky they are not put off by a bit of snot and a colourful face!

Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
