I am liking the words this week for Ronovan’s Haiku Challenge, which are ‘cheer’ and ‘call.’ I have taken a bit of a liberty with the ‘cheer’ part of the challenge and have taken it literally!
I decided that I would write my haiku about the changing colours of the trees in autumn.
Autumn pays a call
Yay, time for a new outfit!
Does orange suit me?
I love how you put it, Judy. That truly cheers š

I have a lot going on in my head at the moment, and the words feel like a contradiction to me… call is not synonymous to cheer to me right now, if you look at them literally… but I will get something up one of these days š

This seems to be a haiku written by a larch tree donning its new hue – lovely.

Yes it is (although I didn’t know it was a larch) š

Hi Judy! I love what you did. The second line conveys the meaning of “cheer” instead of using the actual wordāābrilliant! š

This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
