I get fed up with the expression, “grow a pair,” or “man up.” Hang on a minute, I think women are far tougher! This poem is not for the faint-hearted.
When it’s time to’ man up’
We are told to ‘grow to a pair’
Balls will make us stronger
But that’s not very fair!
Why are they so special?
To make us act so tough
In those awful moments
When life gets really rough.
Gonads are quite tender
And one kick in the jewels
Can render someone helpless
Plus make them look such fools!
Women are much stronger
There are no ifs and buts.
We have to push a child out
Despite the rips and cuts
You don’t find women fussing
On having to wear a box
Scared that sports activity
Will break their precious cocks!
When it comes to showing strength
Balls are pretty minor
I suggest you ‘woman up’
And grow yourself a vagina!
I LOVE this sis!!!!

Judy, I love it! You said everything I have in my mind. No doubt women are much more stronger and brave than men. I’m re-blogging it!

I am glad you like it, Elizabeth. I am not sure that I have a reblog button on here as it is self-hosted! 😦

Our language needs an update.
Personally, I’m choosing to hear a compliment in, “Runs, hits, thinks, etc. like a girl.”
“Man up.” No thanks 🙂

HA!, yes you are right, mostly doing anything like a girl is an insult! 🙂

This made me laugh. It’s so true. I hate it when people use female terminology to depict weakness. We’re strong we’re tough. I read somewhere that giving birth is equal to the same amount of pain as breaking every bone in your body. Some women do this several times. If men had to give birth we’d probably be extinct.

HA! You are right, Rachael, thank goodness women are strong enough to bear the pain! 🙂

As a duly appointed representative of the ball bearing segment of society (ball bearing – get it;) ), I have to say… I resemble that remark.

Society has told us we are weak – because you know – periods. But the times they are a changing and women are finally coming into their power and strength. And the best thing about that, is that it won’t be the kind of power that men wield. It will be so much better.

Lol that’s true. If a man gets lightly tapped in the balls, he goes down to his knees in pain.

Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
