Wacky Word Wednesday #20

This is week 20 of my Wacky Wordy Wednesday feature where I have fun with a word that is weird, wonderful or just plain wacky! It is always a pleasure hunting down words that I think people will like; either because they are unfamiliar to them, or as a blast from the past that brings back memories along with a smile.

Today I have found a word that I love the sound of. This is true of many of the words that I choose. I can burst out laughing when I hear a word like this, this isn’t meant to be funny, but just has that comedic ring to it, (I know, I am odd)! So here is my offering today.

Boffin. This is the expert, the geeky bod with his head in a science book.  A mad professor, wild haired and wild-eyed, cooking  up potions in his laboratory, or inventing gadgets like the top of an egg chopper-off-er, or other eccentricities.

Wherever there are sheds filled with assorted odds and ends that nobody wants, there will be a brain-bonce poring over blueprints and strange looking diagrams, cobbling together all manner of ‘handy’ household items! Sometimes, they even work!

Episode 362: My Take on A Book Review! — June 7, 2015

Episode 362: My Take on A Book Review!

You know when you have read something really good and you just want to share it with everyone?  Well I have written a little review in a poem for ‘Laughter Lines, Life From The Tail End’ by Sue Vincent, which I downloaded from Amazon here.

I thought I would try something different

Not something I usually do

But I have just read a fabulous book

And I wanted to write a review!

If you enjoy a great poem

And love to have a good laugh

Then you will love Ani’s antics

To get out of having a bath!

If legends are more to your fancy

St George and the dragon – the truth

To slay it takes one feisty princess

Not some weak, callow youth!

Do you have a sense of adventure?

To do what very few dare

Stand out from the crowd and be noticed

With vibrant red pillar box hair!

These stories are just a selection

In the book there are tales of all kinds

So I urge you to read it

Sue’s brilliant book, Laughter Lines!

Daydreamer Challenge: Day 3 — April 8, 2015

Daydreamer Challenge: Day 3

Today the challenge is to write something nice about another blog that is participating in the ‘Daydreamer Challenge.’

That is not difficult at all for me to do, in fact, the only difficulty I have is selecting one blog, so I am going to choose two; both of which I am following anyway.

But I Smile Anyway. Ritu is someone I felt an immediate connection to. We have quite a lot in common, our sense of humour, we both like to write things ‘off the cuff’ and we also love to write a poem about anything and everything!

What I also love about Ritu’s blog is that you are never going to know what she is going to write about next! She has a wealth of inspiration which she draws upon to write her posts (I am not at all envious – much)! She is also a lovely person. Friendly and funny, and that is why I love her blog!

A Momma’s View I have been following this blog for quite some time now. This woman is a living dynamo! She is an excellent cook, takes beautiful photos, had two children which she home schools AND if that isn’t enough, is an author of not one, but three books!

I would love to have a bit of her stamina and dedication, that’s for sure! She is another one that helps and supports other bloggers which I admire greatly. She  is a very kind and lovely person as well.

As I said, it was extremely easy to be nice about these two wonderful blogs. Go and see for yourself, they are worth a visit for sure,
