Today’s Blogging 101 task was to meet the neighbours. We had to find some new blogs to follow via the Reader, plus look up specific genres that we might find enjoyable.
Now funnily enough, despite my social awkwardness and shyness, I do not find it a problem finding new blogs to follow and commenting on them, (I might worry later that a comment I have made might be taken the wrong way though)! I really enjoy interacting with people from all sorts of backgrounds and blogging is a fantastic way to do this.
We all have so much to offer each other, and there are so many wonderful and interesting people out there for me to meet and interact with, In the six months that I have been blogging, I have been extremely lucky in that I have already met a number of people who I have really ‘clicked’ with and that i would consider my blogging friends.
Blogging is not just a one way street, and if you want to have people comment on your blog then you must also comment on theirs! It did take me a while to pluck up the courage to do it at first, but it is so rewarding to build up a rapport with someone. I love it when people comment on my blog. I appreciate that they might have enjoyed something (or not as the case may be), that I have written and want to add their own thoughts to the mix, or maybe tell me of their own experiences.
I feel really lucky that this blogosphere is so vast and that there are hordes of neighbours for me to get to know. Even better is the fact that they all have something different to offer.

This sounds like such a simple thing to do, but it is kind of amazing how once you’re set up on here with a bunch of blogs you regularly follow you do get out of the habit of seeking out new neighbours on here. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes I too have blogs I regularly follow that I really enjoy, but then, looking at some of the new ones I have encountered over the last couple of days, I realised that I would be missing out if I didn’t follow them as well.

I’m originally from the UK so it was nice to have a giggle along with someone who has the same sense of humor (yes I’ve started spelling it the American way LOL) but my site name uses the “traditional” spelling of travelling – http://travellingbanana.com
I loved seeing the beautiful village with the classic telephone box – where is it? It looks like Derbyshire. Anyway, it was nice to find and follow you.

Hi Julia and thanks for visiting my blog. I’m really glad that you enjoy it, and yes we Brits do seem to have that unique sense of humour. II love the pic of the village and phone box as well and quite honestly have no idea where it is. I found it on the mighty web and fell in love with it. I thought it was a pretty good representation off England and so nicked it for my blog!

You know that you are one of my favorite blogging neighbors! I’m glad to see you out and about making new blogging friends, and they will be lucky to know you! 🙂 (Oh, hang on…was that too much like a compliment? After reading your recent post on that matter I should use caution in that area…) 🙂

Oh this is so me: (I might worry later that a comment I have made might be taken the wrong way though). And then an internal tug-o-war starts and I think I should delete or explain myself, then I say ‘just leave it now’ and back and forth I go until the next physco-chondriac episode takes over. 😀

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
