“Take one or two of these mixed in a little water before bed….be careful though as you might vomit. I did when I took them!”
Some advice from my GP today when I went to see here with a severe sore throat and ‘bumpy’ painful tongue.
She gave me some strong pain killers to take before bed when my throat is at its worst, and my tongue feels like it is going to dry up and fall off!
Not sure if they are going to make me feel better or worse!

Get well, soon, Judy! If my grandmother was there, she’d advocate a nice shot of whiskey. She thought it cured everything. 😀

Ha Ha! My Nan liked a bit of whiskey too, but preferred gin! 🙂

I was prescribed pain killers for my knee (which was diagnosed then as housemaid’s knee rather than arthritis) with an additional medication to cancel the side effects (ie vomiting) of the pain killers. I ripped the prescription up when I got in the car (£8.20 per item, so I saved £16.40) and purchased some paracetamol instead (16p, no side effects). Hope you feel better soon.

This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
