The sun has finally come out again, and it is beginning to look like summer. Here are some of my favourites things…
- Enjoying all the beautiful gifts, nature has bestowed on us. The flowers, now in full bloom, not only do they look gorgeous, some of them have a beautiful scent too
- Good old BBQs, I do love them. It is particularly lovely when there is a load of you getting together enjoying the flavoursome food, and each other’s company.
- The sea. I love swimming in the sea in the summertime. A beautiful hot day, lazing on the beach and then cooling off with a refreshing swim.
- Not having to remember a coat! It is great just being able to go out in short sleeves without having to worry about getting cold.
- Listening to some great summer tunes! I love music at the best of times, but I always feel happy listening to the sounds of summer!
- The light mornings and evenings. I have never been that keen on the dark so having so much daylight really lifts my spirits, especially when I get up nice and early and the sun is already shining brightly.
- People come out of hibernation. There always seems to be more to do in the summer, People feel much more sociable, and get-togethers happen frequently.
What do you love most about the summer?
This post makes me feel so good!

What an uplifting post. I’m so ready for summer. We’ve had a horribly long winter and this weekend is our first hot and sticky one. It’s just the way I like it. 🙂 Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!

Lovely! I enjoy the feeling of laziness in the air if we get heat- it reminds me of the descriptions of Maycomb in To Kill a Mockingbird. And lemon drinks!

I agree with this sooo much!
People already seem happier and chattier! I had three people compliment my bike basket covered in flowers yesterday! Three! My bike has been covered in flowers for aaaages, but people are more friendly when it’s sunny so they’re happier to speak to strangers and compliment each other!
We don’t have a bbq yet, but I feel like that might have to be our next purchase to get ready for summer.

Oh how lovely your bike basket sounds. I do so love flowers. It is lovely to have people come up and chat, especially when they are giving compliments!
I love food cooked on the barbie, it just tastes so much nicer! 🙂

Umm, did I say some of the bare chests that go on display. 😈

Oh yes, you dare indeed, Hugh! I am with you on this one. Mind you,, depending on the physique of the chest as to whether it goes in wonderful things or annoying things about summer!! 🙂

True, Judy. That’s why I never go bare-chested 😂I’d be in the ‘annoying things’ category.
BTW – did you get my email about the music time machine feature?
LikeLike
Of course not! You would never be in any ‘annoying’ category, Hugh. Just re-checking my emails as I don’t recall seeing one from you, Hugh.

I’ve just resent the email, Judy. I used your Talk talk email address. Is that still the correct one?

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
