I wrote this poem thinking about the never-ending cycle that is housework! Like most people, I love to have a clean and tidy house, but am not keen on doing the chores to get it that way!
If you enjoyed those poems, and have time for a cuppa then you might like to check out my book Rhymes of the Times. It has many more poems like this and is perfect for dipping in and out of when you fancy a little pick-me-up.

You and me both Eddie – except I don’t have a Mr Grump! I met a lady of 80 a few years ago and she said “I’m not one for dusting, dusting takes your life away, but you can grow with a garden”. We could substitute blogging for gardening!

Love your poem, Judy! I so agree with you about housekeeping. I feel that all I do sometimes is vacuum, especially since there are two dogs and cat in the house. I’m constantly running the darn thing! Farmguy just said the other day, “I’m really starting to hate the sound of the vacuum cleaner.” I responded, “Well, you might hate it more, if you can’t see the floor.” 😉

HA! I love that witty reply! Poor Farmguy! I hate the sound of it too, and I hate it that clothes need to be ironed despite the growing trend of people not bothering! (I just can’t bring myself to wear creased clothes). Still, I would rather iron than vacuum! 🙂

Thanks, Judy. ? Housework just becomes So monotonous! Like you, I’d rather be blogging, etc. ? Oh, and I completely agree with you about the ironing—Ugh! But, at least it’s quieter than the vacuum.
Enjoy your day! I hope it’s iron and vacuum free! ? xo

Thanks, Tonya, It certainly was housework free today, I had my A & P Exam but at least afterwards had a Christmas dinner at the pub with some of the other students 🙂

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
