The Sunday dinner
for those with huge appetites,
go for Big Piggy
For only ten pounds
No vegetarians here
-A carnivore’s delight!
After all that food
something to wash it all down
Blueberry and lime?

Well, this week TJ has given us ‘cupboard’ as our prompt for his household haiku challenge. Now, as you might imagine, TJ has an extremely interesting cupboard for his haiku which is worth checking out.
Miss Hap’s cupboard
Who knows what horrors lurk there?
Trying to break free!
How comes TJ has so many wonderful photos in his collection, that are always so stylish?! For our challenge this week, he has given us ‘window sill’ for our prompt this week. Mine in the front room has recently been decluttered as my sister informed me that it wasn’t really the place for hair brushes and random bits and pieces!
The clutter has gone,
My special plant pot sits there
cheering up the room
Today TJ has given us ‘art’ as our prompt for his household haiku challenge. I have never been any good at drawing and am not much of an art connoisseur either. I have always admired those that are talented artists and am even a little envious of them!
For my haiku this week, I have featured a drawing my daughter did for her homework when she was 11 years old. I was very impressed.

A skull for ‘Day of the Dead’
It looks so lifelike!
I was wracking my brains for what to use for TJ’s household challenge this week as our prompt is ‘house number,’ Mine is not as fancy as TJ’s pretty enamel one so I thought of other numbers around the house instead, as he suggested.
I decided that the TV remote controls were a good choice. Plenty of numbers on there to be getting on with! Wales are playing Scotland (who England beat) in the 6 Nations Rugby Cup today, and Mr Grump is glued despite his constant snuffles, snorts and sneezes spoiling his enjoyment! (Man flu has arrived and he is actually really poorly)!
Anyway, here is my haiku!
Hogging the controls
Channel surfing drives me mad
Is it a man thing???
In the dark night sky,
silver-blue moonlight peeks through
Ethereal glow
I do love a watch and have got several. I don’t feel dressed if I haven’t got a watch on and am forever looking at my bare wrist if I have forgotten to wear it! TJ has given us ‘watch’ as our prompt word today for his weekly household haiku challenge so I have featured my favourite one!
My blingy ‘gold’ watch
like ‘fur coat and no knickers’
and all that glitters….
This week we have been given ‘bucket’ by TJ for his household challenge. The only bucket I have at home is the bog standard mop bucket we all have kicking around! Not very exciting.
I then realised that I had made the ‘bucket’ bag not that long ago to keep my knitting in, but that had already starred in a haiku of its own, so it is time to think of something else.
We had to nip out this afternoon to get some bits from the supermarket, and look what we saw….yes buckets of flowers! Ok, they aren’t technically my household object, but I am going for poetic licence on this one!
Beautiful flowers:
Fresh, vibrant colours displayed
in dull, black buckets.
This week we have ‘wood’ to work with for TJ’s challenge. Now, I could have chosen any number of things, chairs, tables, etc. but I thought I would write about our poor old garden fence instead.
Battered and broken,
propped up, drunkenly swaying
Its days are numbered!
Today we have got ‘calendar’ by TJ for his weekly household haiku challenge prompt word. Mine is hanging up on a kitchen cupboard and as my memory is bad, I try to write down appointments and birthdays and stuff – that is if I can remember them in the first place!
Anyway, here are my takes on it this week:
