I thought I would join in with Carole’s idea of writing a short poem with spring as the theme.
Longer days are coming
Bright and sunny early dawns
Nature shrugs off winter
As it stretches and it yawns
Waking from a slumber
Dusting off the gloom
Time to come alive now,
To blossom and to bloom
Spring has brought new outfits
For all the naked trees
Flowers are making pollen
To please the busy bees
Birds are coming home now
It time to meet a mate
It looks like spring is coming
And I for one, can’t wait!
That poem definitely makes me feeling like spring. I took some pics today from my hazel bush. They are blossoming in late January. At least they are on time. Hope the pic works.

The picture is lovely Erika. I can’t believe it is sprouting already. Yes, spring is in its way! 🙂

That bush is so cool. Even when it is cold or snow all around. This bush is blossoming in January/February! 😊

Lovely poem… but feels a little premature. Can you repost it next month?? 🙂

I always enjoy spring very much. Especially the way you describe it. But Judy, we’ve barely had winter.
At this point, the trees are budding and snow and freeze are not done, and I am worried about the fruit.
And my bulbs.

I know I am way too early, and some places do have a lot of snow at the moment. It was just lovely to think of spring for a while! 🙂

Love it! What a coincidence. I was longing for spring today as I spent about an hour in a greenhouse/nursery looking at all the veggie seeds I could plant in my garden this year. I ended up buying flax seeds to make sprouts inside the apt, a peace lily, a purple wandering Jew(gorgeous vining plant), and cilantro seeds to sow indoors.

It is not too far away, and it is lovely that you are creating your little indoor garden 🙂

Our groundhog seems to think that Spring is around the corner, Judy. And apparently, so do our pear trees…they are budding, way too soon. ☺

This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
