Having taken a break from blogging for nearly a month, I am finding it a little tricky getting back into the saddle which I wasn’t expecting. I used to post almost daily about all kinds of subjects, yet now I find myself struggling for something to say.
Don’t get me wrong, I am sure I could bore you all to tears talking about my nursing experiences, but I have already mentioned nursing lately, and I am wary of over-egging that pudding, instead, I will drip feed you slowly over a period of time. (Why does everything with me always come down to food analogies)?!
Speaking of which, I had my diabetic review (on my birthday as it turned out), and things seem to be a bit haywire there. My weight has gone up even more, as have my blood sugars (according to the Hba1c blood test), and my liver function is deranged (hopefully I will find out why when I speak to GP tomorrow although it could be to do with my weight). This is all rather ironic as I am trying to get myself into shape before (hopefully) qualifying as a nurse, (bugger, I said I wouldn’t mention nursing)!
I am going to really have to put a lot of extra effort into living a healthier lifestyle, and no doubt I will post about my trials and tribulations on the way. Well, that will certainly give me plenty to write about!
Bless you sis!
We’ll be here with you, helping you along!

I have missed you dearly… however, don’t let that be the only reason you return to the world of blogging… It can be a major reason, yes, but not the ONLY reason. 😉

Oh, no. I do still love blogging as always, I just felt a little out of the loop a bit. I am sure I will soon get back into it 🙂

Balance is always the answer but trying to catch it as the pendulum swings past so fast it flippin tricky! Combining having loads to do and a healthy lifestyle is a constant loosing battle for me. Even tougher for you when the brain is having to work so hard as well. We’re here to cheer you on Eddie! ❤

Thanks so much, Daffy. For some reason it seems to be so difficult to get the weight off.

Oh, sis, I have no doubt that you always find something to talk about – next to nursing… hehe. But that’s part of your life and a big part actually, so just let it happen. But first and foremost, I hope that you are doing better very soon and that they find the reason in order to treat the problem. Take good care, sis!

Thanks Sis. Yes, I hope they find out what is going on, I am expecting the doctor to phone me today to discuss it. Meanwhile, I am going to try and work out some healthier choices! 🙂

Strange isn’t it, how hard it is to get back into things. Every time life gets in the way of my writing, I have to psych myself up to open up the laptop again. The longer I stay away, the worse it gets too 🙂
Now, that your first year of nursing is over and you’re not so busy and stressed, I bet your health improves 🙂

Don’t force yourself to write a blog post everyday, Judy. Write when it feels good to do so. I often don’t feel the passion to write a blog post and just let it pass. An idea will soon come along. I used to panic if I hadn’t published something on my blog everyday, and that started to make me resent blogging. Then the fun started to go out of it. Now, I write and publish as and when I want to. Sometimes that can be three or four days in a row, but sometimes just once a week. We can still keep in touch with the blogging community by reading and commenting on their posts (and how many of us love when that happens?) 😀

I agree, Hugh, it is no good trying to force a post, it will not work. I am always setting myself unrealistic targets then get stressed if i can’t achieve them. I will definitely follow your advice on this and just blog when I feel ready to. 🙂

Congratulations on getting back to uni (I won’t mention the N word). Keep starting new things you and time will last twice as long. And if you fancy a bit of field work to get in trim we have two hectares of wilderness to scythe and mow.

Thanks, Jane, no wonder you look so trim with all that land to look after! 🙂

Looking doesn’t keep you trim, and I don’t do any more than that. It’s worrying about who is going to do it that has me worn to a frazzle 🙂

Oh no, that sounds very stressful. I hope you manage to find someone.

Eating more healthily is definitely not easy, Judy. Michael was doing really well and lost 6 kg, then he didn’t loss for a month, then, with a great deal of effort, he lost 1.5 kg. We see the dietitian this Friday and I am dreading it. I hope you get your liver functioning and blood sugars back in order quickly.

My sweetheart of 25 years is wrestling with news of diabetes — and the diet/lifestyles changes it will hopefully inspire. I look forward to reading about what you are learning and different diet paths you explore. I also love your food analogies: “I am wary of over-egging that pudding, instead, I will drip feed you slowly over a period of time.”

Everything comes down to food with me, especially as so much of it seems to be off the menu for me, or it least for special treats only! I am sorry your sweetheart has diabetes too, it really is a lot to deal with. I shall keep you updates as I go along trying out things to help me to keep it under control as well as lose weight! 🙂

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
