Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge # 65 ‘Harp’ & ‘Clear.’ — October 5, 2015

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge # 65 ‘Harp’ & ‘Clear.’

Oooh these challenges are getting more and more difficult as Ron gets meaner with the prompt words for his weekly Haiku Challenge. We have got ‘harp’ and ‘clear’ to contend with this week.

Here is my attempt:

Oh, stop harping on!

It’s your turn so get out there

October Roses — October 3, 2015

October Roses

We have had a bit of an Indian summer over here in the UK, and it is still pretty warm. In fact, Miss Hap and I went for a walk about an hour ago and came back roasting!

It is wonderful to see some roses in full bloom in the garden, and there are still some to follow.

I thought they deserved a Haiku in their honour.

October roses

beautiful and delicate

bring joy to my heart.

TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge – Teacup. —

TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge – Teacup.

This week for TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge we are to use ‘teacup’. I took this photo at my sister’s house as she always makes an occasion out of it when she has visitors. In my house, you get a mug and like it, but hers you get a pretty cup and saucer and tea made in the teapot too!

So onto the haiku:

Glorious sunshine

sipping tea in the garden….

but where is the cake?

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge #64. ‘Tide’ & ‘Flesh’ — September 28, 2015

Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge #64. ‘Tide’ & ‘Flesh’

Ron has really got me scratching my head this week to think of a suitable Haiku (actually, mine are never suitable) which uses ‘tide’ and ‘flesh’ for his weekly Haiku Poetry Challenge

This is what I came up with:

Heaving, at high tide

waves crashing and battering

Strips flesh from frail bones.

TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge – Oil — September 26, 2015

TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge – Oil

I enjoyed having a go at TJs Household Haiku Challenge last week and seeing what others had come up with, so I thought I would have another go at it. This week the subject is ‘oil.’

Mmmm I love a roast

Bagsy, the skin’s mine!

Ronovan’s Writes. Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt # 63.’Stag’ and ‘Noise’ — September 21, 2015

Ronovan’s Writes. Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt # 63.’Stag’ and ‘Noise’

Ron was being pretty harsh with the prompt words this week for his weekly Haiku Challenge,  however, I am ‘having a Judy moment’ and have found the perfect use (and image for them! So here is my take on ‘stag’ and ‘noise’

Typical stag Night

Strippers, booze women and noise…

Episode 496: Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt #62: ‘Start’ and ‘Hot’

I was going to go in a totally different direction with the prompt words this week for Ronovan’s weekly Haiku Challenge (you can probably guess from the words rahter than the picture)!

I settled on this instead though!

When eating curry

Take your time, start off slowly,

Things will soon get HOT!!

Episode 493: The Death of Summer Haiku — September 12, 2015

Episode 493: The Death of Summer Haiku

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. I went to a friend’s wedding with my sister. It was warm and sunny and we decided to get a few photos out in her garden before we went. Today after a bit of rain, it did clear up a bit, but as you can see from my garden photos, the sunflower is dead now. We are still getting visits from Tubs and his Mrs (they are perched on top of the fence) for now, but summer is fading away.

Last days of summer

final gasp of heat and warmth…

hard to say goodbye.

Episode 485: Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge 61 ‘Wine’ and ‘Tears’

I love the prompt words this week for Ronovan’s Haiku Challenge of ‘tears’ and ‘wine’. Ronovan himself wrote a fantastic Haiku to go with it which you really should  check out. In fact it is such fun participating in this challenge with all of the others, it is really worth having a go at.

Here is my attempt this week (bearing in mind I am now teetotal)!!!
