I was shocked to hear of David Bowie’s death on the news this morning after a battle with cancer.
His legacy will live on, and no doubt he will continue to be an inspiration for many musicians and artists whose lives he had touched.

I was shocked too because I only saw it on Rich’s post…. So sad! He will always remain one of the greatest.

The song that was just released shocked me. Did you check “Lazarus” yet? It appears as if you was just saying good bye with it and comforting us that he will be never gone at all.

I have just checked it out now. Yes it is like he was saying goodbye, and that he was going to be free.

He must have known it for long. I told Rich that reminds me of Freddie Mercury and his song “The Show Must Go On”

Yes, it does me too. Freddie also must have known.

The music industry lost a brilliant and talented performer. He will most certainly be missed, but his music will live on.

I hadn’t heard! Terrible! I was so psyched up about his new album and now this?

I didn’t even know that he had been fighting cancer for the past 18 months. It was just such a dreadful shock. It seemed that he made that last album especially as he knew how ill he was.

Just sad. A brilliant talent lost. I honestly had no idea that he was battling Cancer. May he rest in peace.

He could’ve rested on his laurels years ago, but continued to challenge the musical status quo. Today is truly the day the music died.

That thought was going through my mind too. Today the music died. It will never be the same again

He was an ever inventive and talented entertainer.
Heard a discussion about him on the radio this morning while on my way to the hairdresser’s, but had no idea he had died. Read it here first.
So young…

Indeed his legacy will live one and especially more-so because of his last just released album, which will be analyzed to death.

Yes, they have already started analysing it in the papers over here!

Really? I haven’t heard it yet. There were three pages devoted to his life and time in the newspaper this morning. Nothing about the album here yet. š

Well, he knew he was dying when he made it, and a lot has been made of the single he just released ‘Lazarus’ both for the lyrics and the video!

I just checked it our after reading your comment. A little disturbing somehow.

Yes, i thought that actually. I didn’t like the blindfolded eyes with the buttons on, a bit odd.

We all know DB was different. Why change now? No, I didn’t take to this video either.

That is very true, I am sure it won’t be long before they analyse it all to death in Canada, it didn’t take long over here that’s for sure! š

I like to think of him as now just “floating in a most peculiar way” and lighting up the sky with his very unique brand of stardust.

Beautifully said Debby. The ‘Starman’ was a ‘Hero’ to so many and his music will live on.
