I hope that you are enjoying my posts from Linda’s Just Jot it January as much as I am enjoying writing them.
Here is today’s prompt word.
Your prompt for January 19th, 2018, brought to you by my dear friend and fellow Canadian, Kerry, is “Darkness.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Kerry at her blog, “Her Headache,” to read her post and say hi! Here’s her link: https://kkherheadache.wordpress.com/
I have never been keen on darkness. I like to know that there is just a little bit of light somewhere, nearby, such as the soft glow of a lamp, or maybe a chink of the landing light showing through at night. Being in a room that is pitch dark actually makes me feel dizzy and disoriented, not to mention uneasy.
The dark mornings and evenings at the moment are somewhat off-putting, Going to work in the darkness and coming home in it makes me feel rather downhearted. I look forward to the spring when the warmer, lighter and sunnier days appear. They really do make me feel energised!
Oh I’m not a fan of the dark mornings either sis!!!
I know, they make you feel grotty before you have even started the day!! 🙂
Can’t believe how dull it still is right now at nearly 8am!
I know, it is raining and miserable here, too!
The darkness effects us in different ways, I prefer to sleep in the dark but Hubby likes a little light … It tends to wake me! So I hide my head . Darkness in winter is so depressing roll on the Spring. Good post Sis how are you feeling today ??
Hi Sis. I am feeling worse than ever today, and assuming now that this is the full force of it! Hopefully I will be on he mend soon. x
I do hope so Sis , I shall keep my fingers crossed for you. I hope you are tucked up in bed!! ??
No, I have been up since 4! I can’t seem to settle at the moment. 😦
That’s horrible I hope you can get some rest today ???
So do I, Sis . ?
I couldn’t agree more. Nightly, The Mister and I comment on how it feels like we’re having dinner at 10 and by the time we go to bed, it feels like we’re up crazy late!
Yesterday, he came and met me for lunch, and I thought, “Wow, it’s odd to see my husband in daylight…” lol
Ha, What a treat! Still, as Erika says, we are through the darkest days now. 🙂
Thank God, the days are getting longer already. It is getting better with each day…. yay!
Yay! Roll on the Spring! 🙂
Yes… time is working for us!!
Take heart, the days are already getting longer 🙂
Yes, and I am pleased about that 🙂
This is me!

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
