Episode 433: Tuesday Titbit. My Top Turn-Offs 18+ — July 28, 2015

Episode 433: Tuesday Titbit. My Top Turn-Offs 18+

I have written in the past  for my Tuesday Tidbit post, about getting  ‘in the mood for getting it on’. Well this week I am going to mention a couple of things (in my opinion). that are likely to kill the mood stone dead.

  • Toe sucking. Yuck, yuck and yuck again! Given my aversion to feet (even my own), this is never going to be top of my list of things to try out in the bedroom. I can think of nothing worse than putting a hairy, yellowing, thick-nailed toe anywhere near my mouth let alone sucking it! Dear God, that sounds more like some form of torture to me (especially if a fungal infection is involved)!
  • Skimpy briefs. These don’t really do it for me at all, and please no, don’t let it be a thong! They look good on absolutely no-one at all! I am not one to be impressed by the ‘posing pouch’ type of underwear, in fact I would probably burst out laughing!
  • Breaking wind. I know some men find it funny, but when in bed with a view to getting a little bit of action, I don’t want to hear anyone ‘parp’ and then get hit with the reek of rotten eggs that has been helpfully wafted in my direction.
  • Trying to skip the starter and head straight for the main course! Like most people, I want the full experience. The kissing, stroking, exploring… building up slowly, taking a bit of time, teasing, that kind of thing, not trying to get stuck in!
  • Rough handling. I do not enjoy clumsy tweaking, prodding and poking before I am  ready to get the party started!

What turns you off in the bedroom?

Free-For-All Friday #21

It’s Friday already, how this week has raced past. Time to take it easy now and relax with some wonderful reading material, courtesy of our wonderful blogging friends. This week I have chosen some thoughtful, funny, thankful and downright silly posts for you to enjoy. Please do go and visit these blogs as they all have loads more posts that are just as brilliant!

Beyond The Picket Fence This post is something I dread when my daughter gets a bit older, especially when I remember what I was like!  This is thoughtful and honest and I enjoyed it.

Nutsrok Now Linda’s blog always guarantees a good laugh. She is one fantastic story-teller with a wacky family which always gives her plenty of fodder for her posts. This post is a little different but no less funny.

The Ninth Life Although this is a very short post, it is no less inspirational, and I could certainly relate to it.

A View From My Summerhouse  As you now I love a bit of Flash Fiction. Here it is done with a slight twist as it is in the form of a poem.

But I Smile Anyway. Ritu’s blog always has a bit of everything on it, but all of it is positive and happy. This short post is very good advice indeed.

A Prompt Reply This post was lovely. The photos were so beautiful, and it is lovely to hear about someone discovering a new passion!

Susie Speaks A positive and happy post, reminding us all that we do have many wonderful things in our lives when we stop and think about it.

I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I did.

Happy Friday everyone 🙂

Decoding Happiness This blog is one that I have not been following for long, which us a shame as I have been missing out! Himali is one of the nicest people you could wish to meet. This poem is just beautiful.

Chris The Story Reading Ape’s Blog Chris has always got loads of wonderful things on his blog, but this post was one that certainly resonated with me.

Author Carole Parks This was a beautiful and poignant post, which certainly brought a lump to my throat.

Wafflemethis This post by Rich made me re-consider the way I had thought about something that we all strive to have it seems

A Momma’s View This is another post that I could identify with. One of the problems of the age we live in.

Sacha Black Sacha and her motley crew (well I can think of at least 2 reprobates), have lined up a fantastic meeting on August 1st. Sadly I won’t be able to make it but I will be following it on Twitter and Facebook to see what they all get up to. I have also cast my vote, and invite you to do the same!

So there you have my blogtastic posts for this hot and sunny weekend. Have a happy Friday!

Episode: 405: Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge #52: Silent and Loud! — July 6, 2015

Episode: 405: Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge #52: Silent and Loud!

Firstly. congratulations and Happy Anniversary to the weekly haiku challenge set up by Ronovan.

I have really started getting into these and always look forward to Wednesdays!  We have ‘silent’ and ‘loud’ this week. There were several ways I could have gone with it but I settled on this in the end!

Any likeness to Mr Grump is purely deliberate!!

You sit in silence:

your expression speaks volumes

which is LOUD and clear!

Episode 397: Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge: #51 Future and Give — June 29, 2015

Episode 397: Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge: #51 Future and Give

It is time for the wonderful weekly haiku challenge as set by Ronovan. The words we have to use are ‘future’ and ‘give’.

Here is my take for this week.

“Give me some silver;

Let me tell you your future.

Oooh, you are naughty!”

Free-For-All Friday #17

Welcome to Friday! It’s a lovely day, the weekend is coming and I have some wonderful blogs to share with you. I have a mixed bag of treats for you this week. Everything from the silly to the sublime.

Kyrosmagica This was a wonderful take on one of the challenges that is going around at the moment. A funny and creative effort that I really enjoyed.

Heels And A Toolbox I have been following Vanessa’s blog right from when I first started. She gets up to all sorts of things, and always has a project on the go! This post however, is a little different to what you would expect, but an honest and heartfelt tribute.

Little Steps To Somewhere I have not been following this blog for very long, but I really enjoyed this post. It is light-hearted and funny and celebrates a little triumph that many of us can relate to!

I Refuse To Follow Your Blog Now this post looks at something from a totally different perspective, and rightly honours those that really deserve it.

The Write Place I love a bit of Flash Fiction, even though I can’t do it myself, I am still impressed at some of the creative stories that people come up with by just a photo prompt or a song title etc. This one is a brilliant example of how a great story can be told with so few words.

So there you have it. Please check these blogs out if you haven’t already as they are all wonderful and have lots to offer.

Have a happy Friday!

Episode 367: #BeWoW Post. I am OK With Me! — June 10, 2015

Episode 367: #BeWoW Post. I am OK With Me!

For our BeWoW post this week, Ronovan has suggested that we could write about being ok with ourselves.

This last year in particular, I have not been ok with myself at all. I have been knocked sideways with depression a couple of times, which meant time off work, frustration and anger at myself for not being able to cope, and lots of time spent wrapping myself up in a cocoon, shying away from being with others.

However, I have managed to break free of it (with the help of my doctor) in the last month and am feeling so much better. I am very lucky that I have such a great bunch of colleagues and an understanding boss, so going back to work was not as difficult as it could have been.

Work has been going really well, and there are a couple of exciting things on the horizon for me hopefully. This is particularly good news, as at one time, I was in a position where I didn’t know if I was ever going to get back to work, whether or not I even wanted to, or if I might lose my job anyway due to the time off. I realise how much I do love my job and that I am even quite good at it!

The fact that I have the daughter I always wanted, and a loving husband that knows me so well, and is so supportive makes life so much easier, as does having such a large family who I can rely on when I need to. This all contributes to making me feel more ok with myself as I know that I am loved, despite feeling to the contrary when I am in that awful slump.

I realise that there are still parts of me that I am not ok with, but that is the physical me, the outside which I am working on. The inner me is not that bad after all and I am finally OK with that!

Episode 344: Here Comes Summer! — May 26, 2015

Episode 344: Here Comes Summer!

What a pleasant day it turned out to be today. As we have just had a Bank Holiday, and the kids are off on half-term, the weather forecast had been rather gloomy for this week (typical), so to see the sun shining this morning was a bonus.

Yesterday my younger sister had given me some cucumber and tomato seedlings, 2 sunflower seedlings and some sweet peas to put in my garden as Mr Grump has not planted anything this year. Luckily, the rosemary, chives and rhubarb we had previously as well as my roses, are doing pretty well, so our garden will not be too sparse this year after all!

Anyway, Miss Hap was out with her friend for the day so I got on with a bit of housework, but had a nice unexpected visit from my sister-in-law. We then went off to pick up my little sister from work and went back to her house to sit out in the garden for while.

My sister (Masterchef) likes to makes an occasion our of everything, we sat outside drinking Earl Grey tea from pretty china cups (she kept glancing over at me as I am usually not to be trusted with anything delicate due to my clumsiness) and tucking into a huge platter of cheese, gammon, feta cheese and biscuits.

It was so lovely sitting there chatting, as we rarely get to spend time with each other. The garden looked beautiful with the flowers and plants just coming to life, the sun was shining, and we all were laughing. It was such a simple pleasure, but gave me a much-needed boost to my mood!

Oh and when I got home I got sunburnt – but of course being me, it is only on the one arm! Classy! 🙂

Free-For-All Friday #11

It’s Friday which means it is time to share my favourite posts of the last week. I have got a great selection for your enjoyment and all of the blogs are well worth a visit.

Behind the White Coat  This post takes me back a few years before all of the Health and Safety rules and regulations; when kids were kids and played without worrying about getting hurt!

My Travels With Depression I have been following this blog for quite a while and find that we have a very similar sense of humour. This post really made me laugh as It is a situation I can imagine myself being in.

My Friday Blog Josh has a habit of telling things exactly as they are! He has strong views that I do not always totally agree with but in this post he totally hits the nail on the head!

The Off Key Of Life I really admire George for writing this post. He is a real gentleman that does not like to see laddish and loutish behaviour towards women.

Hugh’s Views and News  I have been following Hugh for quite a while now and he is one of the nicest people around, This post is very topical, and I love Hugh’s enthusiasm as well as optimism!

The V-Pub  I have not been following this blog for very long but it is always consistently good! Rob is quite a character and very funny.
