My daughter’s room is disgraceful
There are clothes all over the floor
Her school bags are chucked in a corner
And you can’t even open the door!
Her linen is rumpled and crumpled
And piled in a heap on the bed
The poor old goldfish neglected
If it wasn’t for me it’d be dead!
Her keyboard stands right in the centre
It’s lead still plugged into the wall
The bin’s overflowing with rubbish
This mess just won’t do at all.
Well it’s time that she got it all tidied
I’m sick of having to moan…
And nag her to clean up her bedroom
Or I’ll confiscate her iPhone!
The threat worked, and the room is tidy……for now!

your poems are so great. How long does it take to compose each one?

Thanks so much. I love a bit of silliness! They usually take anything from 15 minutes to the longest 3 hours. (My version of ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’)

My nickname growing up was ‘Messy Nessy’. I was so bad for shoving stuff under the bed that my mother took the legs off so I couldn’t do it anymore.

This is me!
Judy E Martin
Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
