We all have those moments in life. You know, the little niggles that serve no purpose other than to make your day just that little more frustrating. Here are some of the things that really wind me up……
- You have taken ages styling and straightening your hair (or have just been to the hairdressers) then get caught in a rainstorm (with no brolly)!
- You get an unexpected cash windfall – then your car breaks down and is going to cost a fortune to repair. Those shoes will have to wait.
- It’s taken ages to get off to sleep, but just as you feel yourself slipping off, you have a desperate urge to go to the loo.
- You have spent ages cleaning the bathroom, and someone wants to have a bath.
- You’re excited about the perfect gift you have bought for someone’s birthday – and find out someone else has bought it as well.
- You save up for ages to buy something expensive, only to find it is in the sale a few days later!
- You are invited to a friend’s house, and knock coffee all over her pristine carpet.
- Your other half has mixed the loads in the washing machine again. Grey bras are not attractive!
- You are desperate to go to the loo when you get to work, then realise there is no loo roll AFTER you have already been!
- You realise you can’t walk in those gorgeous high heels that you just bought.
- You go to use your best mascara only to find your daughter has been ‘practicing her make-up skills’ with it, and there is none left,
- You go to read an old favourite book, only to remember you loaned it to someone ages ago!
- You start to write a blog post and run out of ideas half-way through!!
What little niggles wind you up?
Love and agree with all of them sis!

We are very similar Sis, so I am not surprised 🙂

The second one. My one and only decent lottery win, years ago… and it was just enough, almost to the penny, to replace the fridge/freezer and its contents when it broke down the same day. 🙂

Oh, how sickening, Sue! I can definitely relate to this! 🙂

Useful…and I was very grateful…but not my preferred way of spending a windfall 😉

No, it wouldn’t be mine, either!! 🙂

The empty loo roll gets me everytime! Missing a bus or train by seconds. Hubby telling me how he does things, eventhough I have been doing them perfectly well for years! 💜💜💜💜

That last one cracks me up. I have lived in this town off and on since I was 11 years old but my hubby (who has been here 10 years), still likes to give me directions to places!!!

All of the above for me hit the nail on the head.
How about: you forgot to check your gas gauge lately and are late for an appointment. Your car quits. 😀 😀 😀

Oh yes, that is a real pain, Tess. I have a real dread of running out of petrol. 🙂

The windfall..my emergency was a broken oven and please do not dig the butter…scrape it nicely and if you borrow something from my kitchen then please return it…

Yes, the windfall is a popular one, it really is so annoying! I always return what I borrow but admit to being a butter digger though, I am so heavy handed! 😲

Nooooo…Not a butter digger….lol 🙂 x

Hair? Mascara? High Heel Shoe disasters? I guess it could be worse, I could be a drag queen.
My niggle? The words “We just ran out of what you ordered.”

HA! Yes a drag queen would be lost without her heels and mascara!
I get mad when I order something and they have just run out, too. I am not the most patient of people at times! 🙂

Staying in all day for a delivery that’s due to arrive between 7am and 7pm and it turns up at 6.59pm. It makes shopping online very frustrating. 😀Surely they know I’m last on the delivery run and can tell me? 🤔

That gets my goat as well, Hugh. They think we have nothing better to do! 😡

Not being able to keep your eyes open at night BEFORE you turn out the light. The MOMENT you turn out the light you are wide awake! Ugh! Or…..When you hear your poor cat hacking up what you think is a hairball, during the night, you get up to take care of it, and discover it was no hairball. The cat has gotten sick all over your den and kitchen, and it’s 2 a.m.!!! Okay, so this last one just happened to me, so…yeah….it still rankles. (P.S. Kitty is okay)

Yes, I am often falling asleep downstairs desperately trying to keep my eyes open then go up to bed and PING, wide awake!
I am glad that kitty is ok now, poor thing. It is always in the middle of the night when it happens though when you are barely awake, and end up stepping in something unpleasant

Fortunately, THIS TIME, anyway, I avoided stepping in anything. Thank goodness. Certainly have done so before. Ewwwwww! I did take kitty (AKA: Elsa – nah! Not after Frozen. My Elsa is 15) to the vet today just to be on the safe side. We think it was a bout of colitis. Her tummy is still not wanting a lot of food, but she is better at least.

Aw poor Elsa, colitis is not nice, I hope it clears up soon.

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I am Judy, in my (very) early fifties and decided that life definitely gets more interesting as it goes on! I am a wife and a mum and have just finished University as a Registered Nurse, after having worked as an Associate Practitioner in the NHS. I am also a poet and the author of my debut book, 'Rhymes of the Times.' I love to laugh, and I love rhyming words too, so I joined the two together, and my book was born. I am currently working on another book in the series also. I am a prolific blogger and enjoy writing funny stories, anecdotes, and anything really that takes my fancy.
